About Me

Growing up in the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio, I graduated from Laurel School, a remarkable independent girls' school. Later I received my BA from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana.
Before turning my hand to writing, I had the good fortune to explore a number of other creative careers. My early adulthood was spent in New York City as an actress and singer. In later years I booked modern dance companies, ran the Second Company at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, and acted as business manager for the Hartman Theatre Company in Stamford, CT. In 1986, exercising my love for plants and the outdoors, I developed my landscape design firm, Tanglewood Designs, and created residential gardens and landscapes for over twenty-five years.
My most recent life projects have included publishing Nobody Home: A Memoir, a story about my difficult mother, and writing short stories, a number of which have been published in literary journals.
My love of writing and passion for reading seem to have landed me in the perfect place at this stage in my life. My blog and reviews are published on Goodreads.com as well as on this site.
I live in Connecticut with my husband George, my lovely golden retriever Abby, and my rapscallion little cat Ticky. When I'm not writing or reading, I'm out in my garden pulling weeds.
